SOLO DRAWING EXHIBITION 'THE SAME-OTHER'  AT DURLSTON CASTLE, FINE FOUNDATION GALLERY

Durlston Castle

Lighthouse Rd, Swanage BH19 2JL

3 - 29 November 2021

The project, supported by Arts Council England, focused on bringing together a sighted and visually impaired audience by making works accessible to both groups.

'The Same-Other' was an exhibition of new works, based on my six-week drawing residency at DRAW International, Caylus, France.

My thoughts and feelings concerning the excess of digital stimuli are paramount to my work and are a foundation the experimental pieces in the exhibition. Through applied working processes, use of 'fugitive materials' and the modelling of paper, there are echoes of my experience through sight, touch and hearing, as well as the other senses.

The Audio Descriptions for the exhibition  were created in collaboration with visually impaired performance artist Tam Gilbert, founder and director of Dorset-based Persuasion Arts.
